While compiling this list, the Headies Next-Rated Award saga between Reekado Banks and Lil Kesh that began the year 2016 came through my mind and am prompted to clarify. "Next-rated awards" as the name implies, is accorded music artistes who are envisage to break into the larger music industry sooner than their peers and it is not based on talent alone but more of radio friendliness, fans acceptablity, crowd control and love. Which is to say you could have "hits-back-to-back" or the most aired song but lack of reception from fans could rob you of the award. Such is the case of Reekado Banks and Lil Kesh.
