The Deplorable Condition Of Behind Loremm Road In NSUK (Photos)

Call it nature at work or the inevitable call of nature, either way it deals largely with a natural occurrence.

It is popularly said that; '' whatever has an advantage also has a disadvantage'', as such, in as much as rainfall generally comes with a lot of benefiting factors such as propelling the growth of crops, plus a favorable  weather condition to mention a few. There is equally a large chunk of disadvantageous effects of rainfall, one of which is flooding and stagnation of water, this is currently the menace rocking the Behind Loremm axis of Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, just a stroll from the entrance to the prestigious Nasarawa State University, behind the Federal Road Safety Office, Keffi Division.

For months now, residents of the neighborhood have had the burden of unwanted water stagnation to deal with during this raining season. The region which is predominantly occupied by students of Nasarawa State University have harbored lots of stagnant water spots with the most alarming been the one directly in front of Loremm Hotel. This road which serves as the only route to and from the neighborhood has been immensely damaged by severe rainfall. Even more alarming is the negative impact it has had on commuters who ply the road, which is infact nothing to write home about. Motorist and motorcyclists are seen struggling day and night to get pass this spot choicelessly with the look of dismay on their faces as there are hardly any other route to opt for. This has further prompted commercial motorcyclists to simply ignore any customer heading towards that axis, while some of them would rather drop you off before the spot irrespective of where in the neighborhood you are headed. The ones who have the wits to weather the bad spot, smartly attach a price tag way higher than the usual price.

With the raining season far from been over, there is little or no chance of this plight disappearing anytime soon. It is high time we draw the attention of our electorates to this ugly sight. Yes!! it is the job of our electorates to rehabilitate this bad spot, but on the other hand as individuals in the society do we need to fold our hands and wait for our electorates to come to our rescue before we tackle issues such as this, which is right under our nose and ruining our environment? NO!! We therefore beckon on well meaning individuals and the management of Loremm Hotel of which this eye-sore is right in front of her premises, to have proffer possible solutions that would give this bad spot a face-lift, for it also reeks of bad business for the hotel, as little or no customer would want to lodge in an hotel with an unconducive environment and a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

The betterment of the society is a collective effort and should not be relegated to the government. We all should play our own parts too.
