Why can't Nigerian universities do without strike? I was admitted into Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Department of Business Administration in 2011 at the age of 16 with the dream of becoming a graduate at the age of 19.
In 2013 the water scarcity protest occurred which claimed the life's of our fellow colleagues and friends. This riot led to an indefinite which lasted for six months, after the strike was called off I resumed school in 2014 hoping to continue from where I had stopped. After a week ASUU's general strike struck and this time it lasted for 9 months. After nine months school resumed and activities where no longer the same.
On the 8th of August 2015 I turned 20, though I was almost fed up i still encouraged myself '19 and 20' has no difference I said to myself. In October 2015 I resumed school as a 400 level student, the semester ended on the 11th of February 2016 to resume end of march, I had just 3 months left to graduate. Suddenly!!! I woke up this morning and in my class group chat heard the news that the school had embarked on an internal indefinite strike this morning. My dream has been murdered but I don't know who this murderer is or are.
Bt at what age will I then graduate?? How many years do I have to spend in school for a course which was supposed to be for just 4 years? Where is the country going to? What is the country turning into? Resources are being wasted, life's being risked. My dear country what have become of u? Mr President if all this happened in Jonathan's administration then what change was made? What change did nigerians vote for? people I need answers
