NSUK Touch A Life Campaign

This is a sponsored post. Read Below.......

How would you feel if you were forcefully separated from your loved ones? How would you feel if your only source of livelihood, shelter, food and clothing were forcefully or suddenly taken away from you as a result of some natural disaster or insurgency? Angry, depressed and frustrated I guess, that's the same way innocent citizens who have been internally displaced by the ongoing Boko Haram insurgents, communal clashes and natural disasters are currently feeling.

As at April 2015, Internally Displaced Monitoring Centre estimated that over 1,538,982 people were forced to flee their homes in north-eastern Nigeria and are living in internal displacement. This figure however includes those displaced as a result of brutal attacks by the Islamist armed group Boko Haram in north-eastern Nigeria, the government-led counter insurgency operations against the group, ongoing inter-communal clashes and natural hazard-induced disasters. With over 1,538,982 Internal Displaced Camps in Plateau, Nasarawa, Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, Maiduguri and several other northern states.

Over the years, the growing number of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Nigeria is becoming alarming. The NSUK Change A Life Campaign was originated by Zainab Mundi, a humanitarian, philanthropist and a mass communication student of Nasarawa State University in Nigeria. The campaign was born out of the desperate need to touch the lives of those who have been internally displaced by the ongoing crisis in north-eastern Nigeria. With the sheer purpose of uplifting the plights of our fellow country men, women and children who have been deprived of their fundamental human rights. These insurgents have subjected innocent Nigerians to a poor, overcrowded and unconducive environment in this Internally Displaced Camps with little health care facilities, no educational facility and rarely any meal to eat daily, these are citizens who had very happy lives, beautiful homes, occupations and shelter to call their own.

So many of them have been forcefully separated from their loved ones as a result of the merciless killings by these insurgents.
