NSUK Student in Police Net For Kidnapping

A 300 level student (name withheld) of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, has been handed over to the police by NSUK Security for kidnapping a 15 years old SS1 student (name withheld) while on teaching practice at the victim's school.

An exclusive source from NSUK security unit, who disclosed this to this reporter, said the school girl had gone missing since December last year, when her parents reported her disappearance to the security agencies.

The source who preferred anonymity, revealed that "the girl must have been lured with promises of love" by the student, prompting the vulnerable girl to fall victim to his "sweet mouth", he said.

He further stated that the young girl must have been sexually violated by her captor, having kept her in his room undetected for more than a month now.

"The girl, you know is a minor. She is just 15 and in SS1. Even if she may have followed the guy willingly, it amounts to kidnapping because she is not an adult yet. Her way about was not known by anybody- not even the parents who should be responsible for her until she becomes an adult", the source pointed out.

The source who was one of the investigator in the case, states further that the girl was probably sweet tongued and mesmerized by the "status" of the abductor as "a university undergraduate" , who while undergoing teaching practice in her school may have used the opportunity to intimidate and prey on her.

"You know, the fact that he is in the university is enough to sweep the little girl off her feet. He knew the little girl was vulnerable and he took advantage of that.

"I suspect that he did that for sexual reasons. The girl has been taken to hospital for medical examination", the source confirmed.

The student who is under Faculty of Education was trailed and apprehended by eagle eyed NSUK security, has been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.

Editor's note: we have not been cleared to publish the names. As soon as we get the clearance from the appropriate authority, we will do so. Also because the matter involves a minor, it is unethical to reveal names in such situation.
